# Olas Govern

> Governance and protocol management platform for the Olas ecosystem

## Overview

Govern is the Olas governance app where OLAS token holders participate in protocol governance. Users lock OLAS as veOLAS for voting power, vote on proposals, direct OLAS emissions to staking contracts, and donate ETH to support developers.

## Key Features

- veOLAS: Lock OLAS tokens to create veOLAS (voting power). Longer locks yield more voting power. Increase locks or withdraw after expiry.
- Staking Contracts: Allocate veOLAS voting weight to staking contracts to direct OLAS emissions. Weights update weekly with a 10-day cooldown between changes.
- Proposals: View and vote on on-chain governance proposals (For/Against). Track proposal status, quorum, and voter breakdown.
- Epoch: Monitor protocol epochs. Start new epochs and claim staking incentives.
- Donate: Donate ETH citing specific services to drive proportional rewards to developers. Requires minimum veOLAS holding for boost.
